I surely didn't mean to insult your intelligence. What I was trying to say is if you ended up with a kid you would love him/her. Even though you don't want one, it's still hard not to love your own child.

I wasn't directing this at you. I wasn't directing it at anyone, really - it's just something that has always irked me and this seemed like a good time to state it. Go ahead and have a fucked up kid, or be a shitty parent, and you can just label it ADHD and people will feel sorry for you. Decide that you don't like them, and people think you are Frankenstein......the wife gets even more shit, as if a woman who doesn't want kids is somehow not a "real woman". I think most of the derision comes from jealousy, as they see her having a fantastic life and then have to go back to cleaning shit off walls.

I went through that. For years all I heard was "When are you going to start a family? You won't be young forever." Some people think that just because a woman doesn't have or want kids she is not a "complete" woman.
You made a decision and I wouldn't worry about what other people think.
BTW...I had your life once...I could just up and go anywhere I wanted any time I wanted. And I would be lying if I said that at times I didn't miss that. And I fuck up a lot...but I'm still learning.
